Encompassing the dioceses of Chicago, Joliet, and Rockford in Illinois, the Mother Cabrini Regional Fraternity is one of 30 regional fraternities of the Secular Franciscan Order (SFO) in the USA. Formerly known as the Third Order of St. Francis, the SFO is an official Order within the Catholic Church for lay men and women and was established by St. Francis of Assisi in 1221. Married or single women and men who are faithful, practicing Catholics are able to join the SFO, as are diocesan priests and deacons. Regional AppointmentsJanuary 17, 2010Yesterday, the newly-elected officers of the Mother Cabrini Regional Fraternity held their first council meeting, during which they appointed the remaining council positions. The following brothers and sisters have been appointed to serve on the Regional Executive Council through December 2012:
The duties of the previously-existing role of Councilor for Visitations have been incorporated into the Secretary’s office.
