Regional Appointment: Councilor for Visitations

Following the December 2009 Regional elections, it was decided to incorporate the duties of the Councilor for Visitations into the Secretary’s role on a trial basis. At this time, the Regional Executive Council has reinstated the Councilor for Visitations’ office and has appointed Muriel Baum, SFO of St. Maximilian Kolbe Fraternity (Libertyville) to serve on the the council through December 2012.

Yesterday, the newly-elected officers of the Mother Cabrini Regional Fraternity held their first council meeting, during which they appointed the remaining council positions. The following brothers and sisters have been appointed to serve on the Regional Executive Council through December 2012:

Councilor for Communications/Public Relations:

(St. Francis of Assisi Fraternity, Fox Valley)
Councilor for Fraternal Life:
Bonnie Michels, SFO
(Northwest Franciscan Community of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Palatine)
Councilor for JPIC (formerly Apostolates):
Stephanie Sormane, SFO
(St. Bernardine of Siena Fraternity, Wayne)
Councilor for Vocations:
Norman Mosk, SFO*
(St. Francis-St. Louis Fraternity, Chicago)

The duties of the previously-existing role of Councilor for Visitations have been incorporated into the Secretary’s office. In addition, the Councilor for Youth/Young Adults will not be filled at this time; the council may fill this role later in the summer.

Earlier today, the Mother Cabrini Regional Fraternity held its elections, which were witnessed by our National Minister, Deacon Tom Bello, SFO, and Fr. Larry Dreffein, OFM. The following brothers and sisters have been elected to serve on the Regional Executive Council from December 2009 through December 2012:

Regional Elections in December

Our Regional elections are coming up this December, and all perpetually professed Secular Franciscans in the Mother Cabrini Region are invited to nominate persons whom they believe are qualified for an office. Nominations can be made by a fraternity or by an individual, and if someone is interested in a particular office, they can nominate themselves.

Note: Only perpetually professed Secular Franciscans within our Region may be nominated for elected and appointed offices.
